I would not buy any Air currently offered. They had their heyday but they’re very weak machines. We’re fast approaching the middle of 2018. I would wait for whatever Apple replaces the Air with. The CPUs and integrated GPUs are really awful. A friend’s MBA really struggled to stream 1080p video over airplay. A task which the iPad Pro or iPhone 7 could pull off without any stutter. If you’re not getting a 13” or 15” tbMBP just stay away from MacBooks for now. Better yet look at refurbished 2016s and 2017s or get one from craigslist with low battery cycles for a good price.

Unless you really want the illuminated Apple and the keyboard, I just don’t see why anyone would buy one even for $799. The current gen 13” MBPs are even slimmer so they don’t even have that going for them anymore. Apple should really just kill the Air. It have a nice 10 yr run but it’s over.
