Apple Event to Include 13-Inch MacBook Pro, 16-Inch MacBook Pro, and 13-Inch MacBook Air With Apple Silicon Chips [Updated]

Next week's Apple event will see Apple introduce three new Macs with Apple Silicon processors, including a 13-inch MacBook Pro, a 16-inch ‌MacBook Pro‌, and a 13-inch MacBook Air.

The updated info on which Macs we can expect to see at the event comes direct from Bloomberg, with sources listed as "people familiar with the matter."

Aside from the transition to ‌Apple Silicon‌ chips, the new Macs will not feature significant design changes, with Apple continuing to use the same MacBook form factor. Rumors suggest Apple is working on redesigned versions of the ‌MacBook Pro‌ that will come in 14.1 and 16.1-inch sizes with mini-LED displays, but those machines will not be ready until 2021.

Apple's new Macs will feature 5-nanometer chips that are based on the A14 in the iPhone 12 models, bringing power efficiency and performance improvements. Apple plans to transition the entire Mac lineup to ‌Apple Silicon‌, but the process will take around two years.

While the notebooks will be the first to get refreshed, Apple is working on a redesigned iMac with an ‌Apple Silicon‌ chip and a new, smaller Mac Pro model.

Apple's event is set to kick off on Tuesday, November 10 at 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time. Apple will live stream the event, and we'll also have coverage here at MacRumors.com and the MacRumorsLive Twitter.

Update: Bloomberg updated its original article and has clarified that the 13-inch ‌MacBook Air‌ and ‌MacBook Pro‌ are further along in production than the 16-inch ‌MacBook Pro‌, and that "at least those two laptops" will be shown off at the event. It's possible, then, that we'll see just the smaller notebooks with no mention of the 16-inch ‌MacBook Pro‌, but there's still a chance we'll see all three.

I am very sceptical about the 16" with AS... I bet there was an error in "translation" somewhere. We will most likely see a new 16" with Intel CPUs and maybe updated AMD graphics.

No way the 16 can beat i9 and amd
Well, in single-core, the iPhone is already on par or beating anything Intel or AMD can offer. A 8-core A14 with slightly higher clocks will handily outperform any i9 at a much lower power consumption.

Agh if they look exactly the same I'm not sure I will want to upgrade knowing there is a redesign coming next year. Still excited for the event though.

I really hope that the new machines are redesigned and that the report is wrong.

Otherwise, I'm waiting.

I wanted to pull the trigger on an iPad Pro or an MBA, both of which are not worth it with rumored changes so close to come...
Why do you want a redesign? Does it really matter what the machine looks like so long as it has a good screen and a working keyboard?
